Our Founder MembersThe Club’s first meeting was held on 20th June 1922.
Our Charter, Rotary International Club No. 1416, is dated 28th September 1922.
Whilst acting as representatives on the national committees of their respective associations, E S Peck and G B Bowes met many Rotarians. Feeling themselves stimulated by their idealism, under guidance of the British Association of Rotary Clubs (now Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland), they formed a small Committee in 1921 on which served the five men who were to become in turn the first five Presidents of the Rotary Club of Cambridge. After careful consideration, the following 31 men were invited to accept Founder Membership.
E S Peck was the first President of the Club.
